What is MCP and why does it matter for a studio?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant connect securely to an external system: read information and run actions with scoped permissions. Companies like Stripe, Linear and ElevenLabs use it so their customers can operate from ChatGPT or Claude without leaving the chat.
For a studio owner it means no more exporting reports to Excel to answer a simple question. Instead of opening five screens, you ask in plain language and the assistant queries the live data in your Ollynk account. And if you ask it to do something, it does it with your confirmation.
How to connect it in three steps
You don't need a developer or an API key. The connector uses sign-in with your Ollynk user (OAuth), the same way you connect Google Drive or Slack to an assistant.
- In the Ollynk admin go to Integrations → Connectors and copy your business's MCP link.
- In ChatGPT: Apps & connectors → Create or Add MCP server → paste the link, OAuth authentication. In Claude: Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector → paste the link.
- Sign in with your Ollynk account and accept the permissions. Done: ask whatever you want.
What you can ask
The connector exposes 55+ actions grouped in business language. Query actions are read-only; anything that changes data asks for confirmation. Some real examples:
- How much did we sell this month per location, and how does it compare to last month?
- Which classes are under 60% occupancy this week?
- How many no-shows did we have on Saturday, and in which slots?
- Which clients have a package about to expire and haven't booked in 14 days?
- Which coach has the best rating this quarter?
- Add Yoga Flow on Tuesdays at 7 pm with Sara, capacity 14.
- Onboard Luis as a cycling instructor.
- How do I set up the automatic no-show charge in Ollynk?
What it can do, area by area
Business snapshot: sales, occupancy, active subscriptions, revenue by type and operations metrics per location and period. Schedule and bookings: see schedules and capacity, create or move schedules, log or update a booking. Clients: search, see profile and history, who has an active package, update details or create a new one.
Catalog: classes, services, rooms, packages, memberships, products, add-ons and events, with read, create and update. Team: instructors, availability, performance and ratings. Help: the assistant searches Ollynk's official guide and explains how to do anything in the system.
Security: what it can and cannot do
The assistant inherits exactly the permissions of the user who signed in. If a coach connects the link with their user, they see what a coach can see in Ollynk, not the finances. Write actions (create, edit, delete) always ask for confirmation inside the assistant. And from Integrations → Connectors you can revoke any access instantly.
Ollynk doesn't share your data with OpenAI or Anthropic. What the assistant retains from the conversation depends on the privacy settings of your ChatGPT or Claude account, not on Ollynk.
Three ways studios are using it
The Monday meeting: the owner asks for the week's sales, occupancy and no-shows and gets the answer in seconds, without building a report. Daily operations: the front desk adds an extra slot or moves a class from the chat while serving the counter. Retention: the assistant lists who has a package about to expire and drafts the WhatsApp message for each one.
Frequently asked questions
Does Ollynk MCP cost extra?
No. It's included in every plan. What you pay for ChatGPT or Claude is separate.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You copy a link, paste it into your assistant and sign in with your Ollynk account.
Can it charge or delete something without me knowing?
No. Any action that changes data asks for your confirmation, and the connector can only do what your user can already do in Ollynk.
Which assistants are supported?
ChatGPT, Claude (web, desktop and mobile), Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex and any remote MCP client over HTTPS.
